The lake of fire
Fourteen years ago today hundreds of people perished in agonizing flames because of the evil intents of murderous men devoted to Islam. A lake of fire…I imagine that’s what it felt like. That lake was eventually extinguished and many of those who died in it found themselves on a “sea of glass” before the throne of God and were welcomed into eternal life with him. But those who died creating that temporary fiery lake, shouting praise to their false god, came out of the flames only to go back into an everlasting lake of fire.
Whatever the eternal place of the damned is like, being described as a lake of fire makes it clear that it is a place of torment and agony…like the suffering endured by those in the Twin Towers in Manhattan, the hundreds of thousands exterminated by the Nazis at Auschwitz and Treblinka, and the multitudes tortured and killed by ISIS in the Middle East. Perhaps not physical affliction and anguish, but just as horrible and more so because it is unending.
The truth of the immortality of the soul is our only assurance of ultimate justice. And the mercy of God our only hope. “Mercy triumphs over judgment,” but for those who will not believe and repent, mercy is rejected and judgment is all that is left.
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened.
Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. ~ Revelation 20:11-15
I’m sorry, did you just USE the deaths of 3000 American Citizens, on the very DAY that they died, to make a Religious appeal? think of the audacity of what you have just done. this post needs to come down. unbelievable.

I think it’s a bit poor taste to exploit their horrible deaths on the anniversary of those deaths just to scare people with hell into believing. My opinion, disagree if you’d like but I think it’s ugly

Caroline, you are aware, aren’t you, that Muslims worship the same god Jews and Christians worship: the god of Abraham. Abraham is even said to be Yhwh’s best friend. Moses is revered, and Jesus is also worshiped. Muslim’s even believe Jesus will return to fight side-by-side with the Madi to defeat evil.
You all worship the same god.

John, the Muslim god is markedly different from the one Christians worship. Most importantly, they don’t believe Jesus is God; we worship him as the Son of God, the second Person of the Trinity. The Muslims repudiate the whole notion of a Trinity.

There is no Mulsim god, Jewish god, or Christian god. There is only the god of Abraham.

John, you’re obviously no expert on the monotheistic religions. And you completely ignored the plain contradiction I cited. Continuing to assert something in the face of contrary evidence does nothing to strengthen one’s case.

The Jews don’t believe in the trinity, yet it is THEIR god whom you worship. The Muslims believe like the Jews.
So, again, you are calling your god a false god.
That is, of course, unless you think Christians worship a different god to the Jews.

Are you serious? Musa (Moses) is considered a prophet and is mentioned 136 times in the Qur’an, and Abraham (mentioned 69 times) is even described as the Middle Eastern gods best friend: “Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend.”
Muslims, like Christians, worship the god of Abraham!

Just because Islam recognized Moses and Jesus does not mean they worship the same god as Jews or Christians. There is a monumental contradiction that I gave you which you still have not acknowledged. I don’t have time to respond to frivolous and unfounded objections, assertions, and accusations.

Did two gods contact Abraham and make a pact?
And no Caroline, Jews don’t believe in the Trinity. “Hear O Israel, The Lord our G-d, the Lord is One.” (Deuteronomy 6:4). The Trinity is a Christian (post-Pauline) invention solidified into dogma at the Nicene Council

looks like John has got you. any Christian, Jew or Muslim knows that John is correct and you were not.
why won’t you simply and honestly admit you are wrong and then apologize with Christian humility for having mistreated him for saying something that is ultimately correct?
is it that difficult for you admit to being wrong and having mistreated another person wrongly?
surely you know the definition and application of a contrite heart and repentance?
or would you rather protect your pride and defend your right to ignore when someone else has shown you to be incorrect?
I’m sure John doesn’t expect or feel the need for the apology, but as a Christian aren’t we held to exhibiting the Fruits of a Holy Spirit Transformed and Christ Conformed Heart and Character?

Wow. This is quite incredibly sanctimonious of you, Mike. I have no problem apologizing when I’ve been wrong. If you truly believe I am wrong in claiming that the God of the Bible and Islam’s Allah are not one and the same, please make your case. That’s all I’m asking.
