The place is real; the danger is real
I responded to POTUS on “X” the other day. Or at least to whomever is running Joe Biden’s social media. Referring to our VPOTUS and her running mate, he said they’re “one hell of a team.” I reposted that and said, “And if we vote them into office we’ll have one hell of a country. Literally.”
I was referring to the Communist takeover that a Harris-Walz administration would likely usher in, and the resultant shortages, injustices, and unrest most Americans would suffer. Life would be hellish; so, not actually literally but rather metaphorically.
But hell does figure into this election literally in a different way. Because, knowing what the Democrat Party stands for, I fear that most Democrats are on the “wide path” and headed for that place of torment.
Here’s why I say that.
- I believe on the basis of good evidence that Christianity is true. Christianity teaches that hell is a real, eternal destination for all who reject Jesus as Savior and Lord. Not as a punishment for rejecting him, but as punishment for their sin and the logical result of choosing not to accept the rescue offered them in Christ.
- Those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus as Savior, submitting to him as Lord, become his followers. True followers obey what their Leader tells them. If they refuse to, they are not followers but rather rebels. So even people who claim to be Christ-followers but practice and promote ungodly, unbiblical, sinful activities show that their supposed commitment to him is false.
- Democrats promote abortion, which is murder; homosexual behavior, which is condemned by God as abhorrent; and transgender ideology, which is harmful to children and rejects God’s good creation of men and women as different but complementary.
- So voting Democrats into positions of power to enact ungodly policies gives evidence that the voter’s allegiance is to something or someone else other than God. And therefore that they have not submitted to him, and not received salvation from the punishment for sin (hell) that is offered to all.
Some will read this and conclude that I am, in effect, telling all Democrats to go to hell. But actually I’m trying to do my small part to prevent that tragedy. Warning of danger ahead is an act of kindness, not a curse.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ saves all who believe and receive him from the eternal penalty we all deserve. If you have not yet put your faith and trust in him, don’t wait. The “bridge out” on your life’s journey may be just around the bend.
