Atheist Memes Answered – That’s all you are, kids
So we should teach our children that they are no more than mindless stuff. Only atoms that will die and then “live on” to fill the void of a mindless, material universe. Even if that were true, I would try and keep it from my children as long as I could. Wouldn’t you?
Thanks, Caroline. Very true. Our atheist oldest son was visiting a couple of weeks ago, and in conversation he was decrying the moral collapse of society. I replied that it was inconsistent for him to believe in moral values if we are all just chemical accidents and that there can be no “right” or “wrong” in such a construct. He had no reply. I don’t claim that as a victory but as an opportunity to shake up his illogical reasoning. I’m sure my quick response to him was based on information I’ve been reading recently on your blog and others, so thanks!

Oh, I’m sure he’s been thinking about the inconsistency. The moral argument is powerful in part because we all genuinely perceive the objectivity of certain morals. Good for you for challenging him and I hope you have another opportunity with him soon. And I’m really glad if I’ve been a help in any way. 😀

Tom, are you familiar with this video from William Lane Craig’s ministry? It would be a good one to share with your son. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxiAikEk2vU

Thanks, Caroline! Yes, that is an excellent video for an atheist wringing their hands over the “decline of morality” like my son.

Wow, and atheists say to teach kids about sin, judgment, and redemption is abusive? That teaching would scare a kid to death!

I know, right? What a way to set a child on the path to depression. Kill their natural hopefulness and joy. Make them wonder why they’re here.

Yet, teach them of the hope and love of God, and get called an abuser. Yet more proof that the atheist world view is void and incoherent. Thank you for always being willing to show that.
