We do not need a woman president. Stop it. Just stop it.
Now that two female candidates for president have gone down to defeat, feminists (women and men) are charging all who didn’t vote for them with misogyny, and resolving to get a woman in the White House if it’s the last thing they do. I think that’s very misguided and foolish.
Is it a concern for women’s rights and representation that drives this goal? Or a desire to see women assert themselves over men? Do they think we must have a female president to adequately address females’ unique situations and needs, or is this a grownup declaration of “Girls rule; boys drool”?
Presidential politics in the 2020s should teach us all a lesson in where feminism at the highest levels can lead. But it probably won’t. Kamala Harris was selected by Joe Biden for her color and sex and failed to distinguish herself as a capable vice-president. Then when she was handed the 2024 candidacy for president, all the millions of Democrat dollars and propping up and protection from the mainstream media could not outweigh her obvious inadequacies.
There is no justification good enough for making an intentional effort to get a woman in the White House. It’s too important a position to let gender be a factor for qualification. The president doesn’t have to be female to understand and care about females, and women don’t need to have one of our own in the highest position in the land in order to feel equal with men.
Women who are strong, intelligent, and confident don’t need validation from having a woman president. I suspect that those who most ardently advocate for it simply do want to see women assert themselves over men. Or if they’re men, don’t want to be seen as misogynous.
We do need some women in the executive branch because we bring a different perspective and have gifts of insight and sensitivity that can inform and help direct policies for all Americans. But it’s unwise and unnecessary to promote “the future is female” as a political objective. Let’s instead resolve every four years to elect a president who understands that every human being…born and unborn, male and female, every color and creed…is made in the image of God. And furthermore, one who is smart, authentic, and capable of leading the greatest country on earth.
I realize no one’s going to listen to me, but I’m saying it anyway. Stop trying to be or install the first woman in the Oval Office. My life will not be helped or enhanced by a Madam President. Rather, a man who knows what a woman is and wants to protect us…from crime, foreign adversaries, and policies that allow men to invade women’s spaces and sports…is much to be preferred.
And, thank God, that’s who we’ll have for at least the next four years.
